I have never believed that the world needs a St. George to conquer thedragoof Freudiaerror. I believe that ordinary rational mewho arenot captured by professional status images casee the artificiality andlack of genuine love for humanity that characterizes his theories. Oncethis insight has bee established imen's minds, what use cait be tofollow Freud into all the byways and sidetracks with which he sought tocover up his owsense of being oshaky ground? How many times doesaindividual have to prove that one and one are two? Freud obviously had some kind of high impact influence othepsychological thinking of his time. I wish to identify the nature of thatinfluence without getting lost ithe kind of polemics which beesinvective, a fate which has overe many of his critics. It is necessaryfor the critic to be firmly oriented toward the search for truth abouthumanature ihis owlife if his analysis of Freudiaerror is to be acontributioto the building of a science of humanature. This monograph is not primarily adversarial istructure. Truth willstand oits owfeet, just as error will die of its owweight. Although Irepeatedly point out that Freud made significant and undermining errors,I am doing this to emphasize that every thinker ithe humafield neednot be lost ithe same way. I am primarily interested icreating a bridgefor the municatioof my owinsights. Polemic writing al
