　　近十年來，我國高等醫學教育發展迅速。為瞭與國際接軌，提高醫學生的英語水平，滿足社會的需要，《內科學》雙語教學受到瞭廣泛的重視，也取得瞭一定的成績。但是，缺乏高質量的教材成為製約《內科學》雙語教學的一個瓶頸。目前國內所使用的《內科學》雙語教學的教材主要有兩種情況：一種是由任課教師自己編寫的教材，另一種是直接使用國外原版內科學教科書。教學實踐中發現，使用這兩種教材都存在一定的問題。自編教材，不統一、不規範，英語錶達也不地道，受任課教師本人英語水平的局限；而直接使用國外原版教材，雖然英語錶達地道、準確，但與國內現行的中文《內科學》教材的教學大綱、內容和體例等方麵相差甚遠。因此，科學齣版社決定齣版這套以兩本原版內科學教材“Harrisons Manual 0f Medicine(16thEdition)”和“current Medical Diagnosis&Treatment;”(2005)為基礎，由國內一批富有內科學教學與臨床經驗的專傢參考衛生部臨床醫學專業教材編審委員會提齣的內科學教學大綱加以改編的《內科學》教材，以滿足我國高等醫學院校《內科學》雙語教學的需求。
