艾琳齣生後的4個月內，都是看一些軟厚厚的幼兒書，或是用又厚又硬的紙闆製成的童書，這些書除瞭看之外，還可以當玩具玩。艾琳4個月之後開始喜歡各類的立體書，她總是每天看2至3次這樣的書，而且每次長達45分鍾。到她10個月大時，我開始很渴望讀真正的故事書給她聽，所以我決定講她放在兒童用餐的高腳椅上聽我讀故事書（這樣纔能防止她撕書），這麼做效果很好，而且她的有些反應也讓我感到驚訝。日記中，早餐後9本書；午餐後10本書、4首詩；晚餐後7本書。最後我總共花瞭75分鍾讀瞭25本書。

發現我還真是買瞭不少Arthur,其實故事很一般啊，名氣很大。但書本身比較粗糙，故事也不算引人入勝，我自己覺得一般，兒子也覺得一般
