Thanks to an invention mishap Andrew, Judy, and Thudd have been shrunk down to the size of bugs. That’s a serious problem when they get lost in a deep, dark, and bat-filled cave. Bats love to eat bugs! Will Andrew, Judy, and Thudd find a light at the end of the cave? Or is that really a glowing insect just waiting to eat them?

"The fourteenth book in the "Andrew Lost" series finds Andrew and Judy, along with Thudd the robot, reluctant riders on a bat. They are carried away to a cave where they hitch a ride on a baby bat, have to navigate their way through bat guano, and avoid being eaten by salamanders. By using a roach's discarded exoskeleton, the cousins manage to navigate their way out of the cave, only to find themselves once again airborne—this time on a bird traveling to the Arctic! As with other books in the series, Thudd helps Andrew and Judy by giving them handy scientific information. Unfortunately, the information is given in stilted language that is sometimes hard to understand and doesn't necessarily make sense for the character. Some of the descriptions might seem a little gross to adults, but might appeal to children in the intended age group, especially reluctant boy readers. This series is a good way to nurture reading enjoyment in scientific-minded kids who might not usually want to pick up a book."
