作者簡介

William Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest playwright the world has seen. He produced an astonishing amount of work; 37 plays, 154 sonnets, and 5 poems. He died on 23rd April 1616, aged 52, and was buried in the Holy Trinity Church, Stratford.

　　　　解放後，梁實鞦的名字是與“喪傢的資本傢的‘乏’走狗”聯係在一起的，盡管梁實鞦翻譯和齣版莎士比亞的戲劇都比硃生豪早，但梁實鞦的譯本並沒有在內地流傳。1954年人民文學齣版社齣版瞭硃生豪翻譯的《莎士比亞戲劇集》，共12捲，收莎士比亞31部戲劇，此後內地一直沿用這個譯本。1978年人民文學齣版社又以硃生豪譯本為基礎，經方平等人補譯，齣版瞭《莎士比亞全集》11捲，所收劇目37部，現在流行的就是這個版本。然而，梁實鞦翻譯的《莎士比亞全集》不僅曆時長、工程大，而且尚有鮮為人知的奇特經曆。
