MARY POPE OSBORNE is the author of the New York Times number one bestselling Magic Tree House series. 喜欢,会一直在京东购书发货真是出乎意料的快，昨天下午订的货，第二天一早就收到了，赞一个，书质量很好，正版。独立包装，每一本有购物清单，让人放心。帮人家买的书，周五买的书，周天就收到了，快递很好也很快，包装很完整，跟同学一起买的两本，我们都很喜欢，谢谢！今天家里没有牛奶了，我和妈妈晚上便去门口的苏果便利买了一箱牛奶和一点饮料。刚好，苏果便利有一台电脑坏了，于是便开启了另外一台电脑。因为开电脑和调试的时间，队伍越排越长。过13分钟，有一个阿姨突然提出把键盘换了，这样就能刷卡了。我妈妈就在旁边讲了一句键盘

这大概是我写的最短的一篇译后记。好的文字总是令人失语，伟大的作品更是令人心存敬畏，不敢多加评论。精彩如[SM]这样的小说，我辈只有如痴如醉地倾心捧读。 　　 最后一切真相大白，道布斯爵士给了“白茫茫一片大地真干净”的背景，平静优雅的语言，如我所料的结局，却有着震撼人心的力量。我一边把英文变成中文，一边无声地流下眼泪。这听起来也许很矫情，但这真是破天荒头一遭。翻译感人的爱情故事，我固然感动泫然，却并未浑身发抖不能自持；翻译与我的经历有切身关联的纪实作品，我固然激情满怀，却并未手脚冰凉震撼不已。但这本小说做到了。从头到尾，我见证了一个人，或一群人，他们形形色色，天壤之别，却因为对权力的共同追逐，进入无穷无尽的漩涡，或挣扎，或放任，最终要么出人头地享受风光无限，要么惨不忍睹遭受灭顶之灾。 　　 看上去弗朗西斯•厄克特似乎是唯一笑到最后的成功者，但我以一个小女子的浅薄试图去窥探他的内心，难道站在硕大的唐宁街首相办公室，独自一人看着窗外的景色，他不会痛苦，不会孤独？也许就像他自己所说的，“这就是政坛。”一路走来，他收获的是权力与掌声，丢失的呢？人性、情感、友谊与道德和良心。夜深人静时，他能安然入眠吗？回想过去时，他能坦然无畏吗？不知书中的弗朗西斯听到这番所谓的“陈词滥调”，是不是会微微一笑，用那双凛冽而深邃的蓝眼睛看着我，一字一句地说：“你可以这么说，但我不可能发表任何评论。” 　　诚然，一开始是因为对热播美剧[SM]和男主演凯文•史派西的崇拜，促使我接下这本书的翻译任务。甚至一开始还觉得书过于严肃，没那么吸引人。但后来我被作者优雅沉着而又引人入胜的表达紧紧抓住，到最终读完和译完这本书，有两点值得庆幸。 　　 一是这本书写于上个世纪八九十年代交替之时，所以，书中没有美剧里为了吸引观众眼球，而增添的那么多花里胡哨的人物和节外生枝的情节，一切都集中于弗朗西斯和几个主要角色身上，干脆利落，紧凑得没有半点多余的情节。整本书一气呵成，摄人心魄，令读者手不释卷。 　　 二是原著是以英国政坛为背景，而且作者是真正在政坛摸爬滚打过的人。所以书中的权力倾轧和政治斗争比美剧更真实，更直接，更敏锐，更残酷。对我来说，这本书的翻译过程，也是更深入了解英国政体，了解其中权力纠葛的学习过程。 　　 当然，从对“乌七八糟的英国政坛”所知寥寥到查阅资料，搜寻网络，翻译完这本书，加之自己水平有限，其中难免有错误和疏漏，还希望读者多多指正。在此也感谢编辑对我的帮助和鼓励，以及家人和朋友对我的支持。谢谢你们，给我温暖美好的爱，让我勇敢前行。 　　就像作者说的，请沉浸其中，好好享受。你会像我一样被震撼得哑口无言吗？这个嘛，你怎么说都行，“但我不可能发表任何评论”。
