作者简介

David Small grew up in Detroit, Michigan, studied art and English at Wayne State University, and completed his graduate studies in art at Yale University. In addition to children's books, David makes editorial drawings for such publications asThe New York Timesand The Wall Street Journaland is a frequent contributor to many national magazines as well. David also writes book reviews for The New York Times Book Review.

Although David always dreamed of being an artist, it was not until he was in his late thirties and had several works published that he began to say, proudly, I am an artist. David and his wife, Sarah Stewart, now live in Mendon, Michigan, a town so small that you can whisper something on one side and be heard on the other.

故事很有意思。小姑娘妞妞一夜之间长出了鹿角，她的妈妈非常难过，相反的是其他人却都很淡定。妈妈问医生，但医生也没什么办法，无奈给妞妞做了一顶特大号的帽子，把鹿角遮住了，但妈妈也没好到哪去。可是后来一夜之间鹿角就不见了， 令妈妈烦心的是竟然又长出了孔雀尾巴。故事意在说小孩，忽然之间会出现点小毛病了，这些毛病在妈妈眼里就是眼中刺，但是在外人眼里可能不算什么，甚至可以变成优点呢。
