Together, she and Jess create Terabithia, a magical kingdom in the woods where the two of them reign as king and queen, and their imaginations set the only limits. Then one morning a terrible tragedy occurs. Only when Jess is able to come to grips with this tragedy does he finally understand the strength and courage Leslie has given him.

作者简介

Katherine Paterson is one of the world's most renowned children's book authors. Ms. Paterson has received the National Book Award twice and has won the Newbery Medal for both Bridge to Terabithia and Jacob Have I Loved. She is also the author of two other I Can Read Books featuring Marvin, The Smallest Cow in the World and Marvin's Best Christmas Present Ever. Ms. Paterson lives in Barre, Vermont.

1979年，一份日后成为香港电影界权威杂志的《电影双周刊》诞生，从事电影界报道、评论的创作。当时香港电影已经发展到一定的规模，在亚洲乃至全世界占有一席之地，但是却没有自己的电影节，甚至没有电影人自己的官方组织。《电影双周刊》以其对电影事业的关注和责任感，组织了一群电影人进行年度优秀电影和优秀电影人的评选，并从1982年开始，与香港电台合作举办正式的颁奖典礼。此后每年一度，目的是通过评选与颁奖形式，对表现优异的电影工作者加以表扬，同时检讨过去一年电影的成绩，希望藉此促进香港电影的繁荣，提高电影人的制作水平和观众的欣赏水平。这就是在华语影坛具有极高影响力和权威地位的香港电影金像奖。
