1940年《飄》被譯成中文在中國齣版。

1979年12月至1980年4月，由浙江人民齣版社分上、中、下3冊重新齣版。

小說問世當年，好萊塢以5萬美元的代價購得將《飄》改編成電影的權利。

1939年由《飄》改編的電影《亂世佳人》問世。導演維剋多·弗萊明，主演剋拉剋·蓋博，費雯·麗。

影片獲得第十二屆奧斯卡金像奬zui佳影片、zui佳導演、zui佳女主角等八項大奬。
