　　Stephen Shore的照片兒跟我們熟悉的美國風景照很不同，可以說第一眼看上去平淡得讓人吃驚，都是些市井小鎮的平凡景物，也不特彆追求震撼效果或者奇特光綫。他的技術精湛就不用說瞭，這本書裏照片照片角度基本上隻有幾個，一個是正對著某一平麵拍的，沒有多餘的前後景物，另外一個是正對著消失點拍的，還有一個是斜對著某個縱橫相交的景物拍的。這些照片包含很多細節，卻特意避免瞭一些優美構圖的傳統，看網上他最受歡迎的照片並不是很明顯，這本書作為再版自選集，加入瞭很多原版編輯刪掉的照片，其中就很有一些如同普通遊客站在街頭，隨手一按快門拍下的景物。
