　　 众所周知，好多当时活跃的现代主义建筑家都是社会主义者，他们本着“大蔽天下寒士”的积极愿望投身建筑实践。但正如作者所说，他们确实无法摆脱最终还是为中产阶级，甚至资产阶级服务的现实。也把这种原因涉及到了很多方面，包括社会主义运动在西方的失败等等。

以前看的都是中文，从大三的初学建筑史，到现在的大五。每次都是因为前三章无数未知的人名以及晦涩难懂的语言而暂且搁浅。现在买了原版，这几天一口气读了下来，其实发现本书从第二篇开始就渐渐好了起来，没那么难懂了，甚至还有些酣畅淋漓。

　　 我读这本书的几天一直让我联想起读奥威尔小说时的感觉，那就是觉得肯尼斯·弗兰姆普敦书中的每一句话都好像是说给我们听的，这本书也就像是送给我们的礼物一样。
