然而這究竟不是我的home，飯後談瞭一會，我惦記起我的旅館來。我在旅館，可以自由行住坐臥，可以自由差使我的茶房，可以憑法幣之力而自由滿足我的要求。比較起受主人傢款待的作客生活來，究竟更為自由。我在旅館要住四五天，比較起一飯就告彆的作客生活來，究竟更為永久。因此，主人的書房的屋裏雖然布置妥貼，主人的招待雖然殷勤周至，但在我總覺得不安心。所界上的人，倘定他們搭船乘車的期間的壽命，也許在人類社會上可減少許多凶險殘慘的爭鬥，而與火車中一樣的謙讓、和平，也未可知。
