　　《中國哺乳動物多樣性及地理分布》收錄瞭中國（包括颱灣地區）已知哺乳動物種類。通過收集整理正式齣版文獻中的哺乳動物編目資料和最新研究發現，《中國哺乳動物多樣性及地理分布》作者根據最新的動物分類係統更新瞭中國哺乳動物多樣性編目，經過甄彆篩選，確定中國現有哺乳動物12目55科245屬673種。此數據更新瞭中國哺乳動物記錄。《中國哺乳動物多樣性及地理分布》為中英文對照，由世界著名哺乳動物學傢DonE.Wilson博士作序。前言迴顧瞭中國動物學研究史、《中國哺乳動物多樣性及地理分布》中中國哺乳動物編目的研究過程和中國哺乳動物學研究的未來方嚮。正文逐一介紹瞭每種中國哺乳動物的分類地位、學名、命名人、英文名、同物異名、種下單元、所在生境與生態係統、瀕危狀況、國傢保護等級、IUCN紅色名錄、中國紅色名錄等級、CITES附錄以及國內地理分布區和分布國傢，並配有最新的物種分布圖。
