《三體2：黑暗森林》敘述瞭麵對的危局，地球人組建起同樣龐大的太空艦隊，同時利用三體人思維透明的緻命缺陷，製訂瞭神秘莫測的“麵壁計劃，精選齣四位“麵壁者”。三體人自身雖無法識破人類的詭譎計謀，卻依靠由地球人中的背叛者挑選齣“破壁人”，與“麵壁者”展開智慧博弈。作為麵壁者之一的羅輯發現瞭黑暗森林法則，通過這一法則，羅輯想到瞭對付三體文明入侵的辦法。
