幕后故事：绘本经典

《好奇小猴乔治》是作者Margret & H.A Rey他们夫妇二人爱的结晶。故事出自太太玛格丽特之手，先生汉斯负责插画，以简单线条描绘出戏剧张力十足、妙趣横生的故事，夫妇联手开启了这一系列脍炙“童”口的奇想之旅。

在汉斯去世前，夫妇两人总共创作了7本关于小猴子乔治的故事绘本，在汉斯去世后，玛格丽特又续写了几本，直到1996年她也辞世。

1941年美国Houghton Mifflin出版社推出第yi本《好奇的乔治》，迄今该系列已经被翻译成20多种文字，累计销售4000多万册。这只不断惹麻烦又总有好运相伴的小猴子征服了一代又一代的读者，成为绘本中的经典。乔治的形象是如此深入人心，在美国，言谈中人们一提起“好奇的乔治”时都会心一笑，仿佛他那顽皮可爱的样子就在眼前。

When the man with the yellow hat tells George that he is planning a surprise, of course George is curious. Before long George finds a hat, noisemakers, decorations and games. It must be a birthday! But whose birthday is it? That's the surprise! Curious George stars in his own movie, featuring the vocal talents of Will Ferrell and Drew Barrymore. (24 pages)

2. Curious George Goes to a Chocolate Factory

When George and the man with the yellow hat stop to shop at a chocolate factory store, George becomes curious about how chocolates are made. Though he begins to follow the factory tour, George is soon off on his own to investigate.... (24 pages)

3. Curious George and the Dinosaur

George joins a school trip to the museum but his attention wanes when he visits the rock exhibits. George wanders off and finds a dinosaur skeleton in the next room. The temptation to climb to the top is too much for him and when George is found, everyone becomes curious about dinosaurs! (32 pages)

4. Curious George and the Fire-Fighter

George and the man with the yellow hat take a trip to the fire station, and George finds all sorts of new things to explore. When one curious monkey meets a company of unsuspecting fire-fighters, a big adventure is sure to follow! (24 pages)

5. Curious George Visits a Library

The man in the yellow hat takes George for his very first visit to the library. George can't believe how many books there are and loads up a trolley with his favourites, but the trolley picks up speed and crashes – what a mess! With the help of the librarian and the other children, the books are all picked up and sorted out, and George is left with a small pile of his favourites. He is even given a new library card so that he can borrow some more when he visits again. (24 pages)

6. Curious George Visits a Toy Shop

George and the man with the yellow hat go to the opening of a brand new toy shop, but George is so impatient that he sneaks in early. He finds a wonderland filled with hula hoops, balls and puppets! And George just cannot keep his paws to himself.... (24 pages)

7. Curious George Takes a Train

George, the man with the yellow hat and Mrs Needleman are at the train station to catch a train to the country. George becomes curious when he sees the station-master moving numbers and letters on a big sign and thinks he can be a big help. In the chaos that follows, a boy nearly falls on the train tracks chasing his toy engine, but George saves the day and gets to ride right up front! (24 pages)

Hans Augusto Rey于1898年9月16日出生于德国汉堡，在世界知名的哈根贝克动物园附近长大。他非常喜欢动物和动物绘画。Margret也出生在汉堡，于1935年与Hans结婚，并移居巴黎。那时的欧洲动荡不安，两人都是犹太人，处于纳粹横行的危险中。他们意识到，必须赶在纳粹进驻之前逃走，于是在1940年6月14日骑脚踏车奔往西班牙，然后转乘火车前往巴西，去往纽约，展开全新生活，开始童书创作。在他们离开巴黎几小时后，纳粹占领了巴黎。作者的生活也像好奇猴乔治一样，贴近动物而且充满冒险。
